UpdateAll - please note our Race director Jeff has a new contact number 07861 759944 Anyone requiring tyres for the start of the season could you please contact Juli who will be putting in our first order of the year shortly for delivery to you in mid February, The first container for the year will also land around mid February with any bits ordered included wheels etc. Any parts will be dispatched or be available for collection around this time. Please note that no parts will be available between 22nd Feb and 5th March 2012 so please take this in mind when ordering your wheels etc for the first meeting on the 11th March. Sponsorship 2012We are still in need of any potential sponsors for 2012 if you know or are aware of any companies that would like to come on board or are interested in TV advertising etc could you please contact myself or Jeff as soon as possible. For your info we are still in negotiations with regards to the TV contract but this relies upon sponsorship deals being agreed Important InfoJust to let you all know that unfortunately the old type upper control arm is no longer avalible from the USA. I have just found this out after trying to top up our stock in the UK. So the deal is that I have 6 new + 3 used top control arms old style left in stock, once these have gone then the only replacements that will be available is the new adjustable style arms - this will then be the only option avalible in the future. However, we only used three of these last year as a series - so no need to panic buy! Also it seems that a lot of the older style kit, i.e anti roll bars etc, are also going down the same route. Thanks Steve Driver Licencing 2012To all Drivers You should have received your licence forms now and I need them back asap. Any problems feel free to give me a ring on 0797018380. We need both the Incarace form and MASCAR form returning with full payment as per the MASCAR licence form before the 10th February 2012. Any queries please contact me Thank You, Juli MASCAR Secretary AGM & Presentation EveningFirstly thank you to all the drivers, officials and team members who attended the AGM & Presentation Evening. Photos from the evening can be viewed in the MASCAR gallery. The evening marked the end of another superb season for MASCAR, one that has seen the formula enter uncharted waters for a UK oval racing series with its Premier Sports TV coverage. MASCAR would like to take this opportunity to thank the officials for their hard work all year, the drivers and their supporters, the promoters, track officials and photographers, especially Phill Cornish at Ovalpix.com, and finally the fans who've watched the series throughout 2011. Look out for the 2011 MASCAR season review to be published shortly and the 2012 season fixtures that are coming soon A full list of the trophy winners at the Presentation Evening and some selected photos from the evening can be found below, all photos are courtesy of Phill Cornish at Ovalpix.com
Sponsor NewsFirstly thanks to all for the support over 2011 season with special thanks to all of our sponsors: Archer Investments, Racequip UK/Ram Motorsport, TopServe Autos, Best Property Developments and Ashford Courtesy Cars. Unfortunately for 2012 Ram Motorsport will be heading off to pastures new and will not be supporting the series or sponsoring the Birmingham Wheels event, I would just like to thank him for all the past support and wish Pete well in his new venture. Of course this now opens the door for a new title sponsor of the now well established Birmingham Wheels 400 event and also programme title sponsor and car sponsor for 2012. Any interested parties please either contact myself or Jeff Harborne. Contact details can be found on the rules page. Thanks again to all for the support shown and we welcome any new partners to fill this exclusive position that has unexpectedly come available. News from Ovalpix.com"For 2011, in consideration of the costs of racing, a new service will be launched! Each meeting you will be able to pre order your photos as digital images. These will be sent via email or on a disc in the post. You may have between 1 and 15 or so images, the prices are fixed at £5 per meeting for the email version and £6 for a posted disc. The images will only be of the requested driver and will be copyright free for use of your choice. Images will remain shown on the website for individual orders. This service is exclusive to DRIVERS ONLY. Back dated meetings can also be purchased as far back as September 2007." Andy Hankin - official Incarace photographer Car PhotosDrivers, if you have a recent photo of your car that you'd like used on the website please email it to info@mascar.co.uk or 19mascar@gmail.com. Alternatively photos can be uploaded to the MASCAR Racing Facebook group Drivers Booking InNews from Incarace Part of the re-organisation of the Incarace Bham Office, where the raceday programmes were produced will be the introduction of a combined Spedeworth/Incarace Speedweek programme which will cover all of the meetings for the weekend at all Incarace and Spedeworth venues. The print deadlines are much tighter for this than we have been used to, so this will affect you the drivers booking in deadlines. We have previously been insistent that drivers need to book in by Tuesday evening/Wednesday early morning, and this now has to change! So, we need your booking by SUNDAY evening/Monday morning, as these details have to be sent to the printers on Monday. It really does help us to have you booking in at this stage anyway, so that we can plan the grids ect. Please do your best to re-train yourselves to book in that bit earlier. If you are racing a formula that races each weekend, and don't wish to book for the following weekend until you know whats happened the previous weekend, then that's fine, just try to remember to book in on your way home even, or when you get home. A reminder of the many ways you can book to race: the best way is to e-mail or text Juli on 07970183807 or email info@mascar.co.uk Please note as per our 2011 rule book, anyone booking in late or not booking in will have to start from the rear of the grid for the first race (just to confirm Rear of the grid is as it says Rear of every one who has booked in including 2011 rookies). If you're not on our attendance list as a 'Yes' - then you are not booked in. Best wishesFor everyone's information we received a call from H #05 who was recently admitted to hospital. Everything is ok now and he is just waiting for an operation, unfortunately meaning that we will be missing H from the first part of the season. I have wished him all the best from all and we hope to see H back shortly in his #05 car. Steve. Update 01/03 - H is now out of hospital and is looking forward to getting back on track as soon as possible. He'll be watching from the sidelines at Hednesford and then hopes to back racing within 6 - 8 weeks. All of us at MASCAR wish him a very speedy recovery PaypalI have had several requests to pay for parts etc via cards. Unfortunately after looking into the card route it is not a viable solution due to cost, but what I have done is now set up a Pay pal account which works similar so anyone who requires to pay for goods etc can do so in this manner. The pay pal account is under info@mascar.co.uk. Please note that if any Pay Pal fees that are involved then you are also responsable for these any fees that are deducted from the invoice amount will be added to your next invoice. You can find more information about using Pay pal here or by clicking the Pay pal logo 2011 Tyre NotificationAmendment to the Rule Book, Edition 3 - please note that from now on all tyres will be bar coded (not stamped with MAS or BG2006) with a serial number on the inside wall and outside wall of the tyre. As you purchase each tyre that serial number will be booked to that driver so you must ensure that any race teams that share tyres currently only use tyres allocated to the car / driver. Pre-Tech will also include the noting of each number and post tech will check to ensure no swapping of tyres has taken place through the meeting. Anyone found passing on their allocation to another driver will be put forward to a disciplinary hearing. Anyone found with a different serial number of tyre on their car at post tech, without informing them of the change with a valid reason, will be excluded from the meeting. Anyone found running another drivers allocated serial numbered tyre will be subject to a disciplinary hearing for both parties. This system has been introduced to bring the series in line with the current ruling regarding tyres and to ensure fair and equal competition, and to ensure any team drivers only use their allocation of tyres and to prevent sharing of individual allocations allowing a better scoring driver to use fresh rubber. Please take notice of this rule change, it is now part of the 2011 ruling regarding tyre allocation; an amendment has been added to the current rule book. Drivers can view their current tyre allocation here Thanks, Juli Stanford OBO Mascar Racing Ltd N.B. The first container of tyres will land around the first week of March 2011. You need to submit your order and payment via Steve Stanford as soon as possible to ensure you receive your allocation in time for the first meeting on the 20th March. The priority will go with those who order up front. MASCARs will be sporting AMS Oil decals throughout the 2011 season as part of this partnership Promoters Last Rights! All firstly i must congratulate everyone on fantastic season of entertaining racing by all, A massive well done to those who have taken titles and commiserations to those who haven't this year, but i am sure we all now know what is expected for next year, I for one have to sympathize with those who have received penalties this year as i have also including a DSQ but the new man running the shop Jeff has been excellent in every way and kept it fair and consistent, along with the elusive Alec at times has also shown that he is willing to help out, not forgetting Mark & Lucie who has again done a fantastic job in getting everyone out in time and made us all look very professional, and of course we have Pete who reluctantly has continued to Tech cars and who can blame him at his age! and Mike who started the year and realizing the situation kindly stood back to let the independent boys take the reins thanks to Mike for the guidance that helped Jeff and Alec on the road to success, I am sure that we will all agree that between all the officials we have had a consistent year and may it continue in to 2011, Thanks all, I would just like to wish those guys who have left us in 2010 and one of lady racers Gill who is going to be a 60 year old mother of a sixteen year old all the best with the future in what ever they do and thank them for their support also, But you as the drivers have provided the entertainment and with some of the quickest and fastest racing the series has ever seen along with some of biggest accidents also but all in all, I must agree with some of the spectator comments that it looked fantastic with some drivers making major efforts to present the cars and keep the cars looking respectable, well done to all, And finally we just have to round the year out with our 2010 presentation evening the food is booked up now for 1930hrs followed by the presentation then disco and dance celebration can all be present for around 1900hrs, The AGM will start prompt at 1200hrs that day also and will Finish latest at 1700hrs, Just to finish on a bit of a sour note unfortunately Face Book has become the place of everything, I quite understand freedom of speech etc but have to say that when it is directed at an individual or the series including the use of swearing at our close friends and supporters even by our friends and family then some thing has to be said, There are certain people that like to air their views in this way and wrongly or rightly we will need to add this to the rule book, Fortunately the ORCi already have a ruling for which we can take guidance's from with a slight alteration to include your series now added on to the agenda. Thanks to all for the support you have shown in 2010 and lets end the year on a high to celebrate a successful season. Steve, Supporter E-mailThis was recieved from our website via email. Well done to all drivers Subject: brilliant i must say what brilliant entertainment the mascars gave us at foxhall heath ipswich i personally can say it was among the best racing i have seen there and i know that the whole crowd loved the action so well done to every one involved ThanksWayne (Waynster #23) and Trish would like to say a BIG thank you to everybody who helped repair my car at Yarmouth on Sunday. Didnt think it was possable, but proved wrong again. All drivers, friends, sons and daughters really are a good squad, just a shame we cant all get on when were racing aswell? Wayne #23
