SKY TV Package

All we have the opportunity to have the Lydden meeting filmed and shown on sky TV, This does cost but i am currently trying to find a title sponsor for the meeting to contribute towards this,

If anyone knows of any one who would be interested in becoming a title sponsor for the meeting giving them exposure also on the cars and programme ect aswell as SKY TV then please get them to either contact me or give me a call and i will contact them, This is not mega money for TV and we are currently trying to negotiate the price down,

We will use this as a trail to see how it goes with the potential of future TV coverage if successful,

Remember this is two days of racing so double coverage or the possibility of sharing the cost between several companies.

Thanks Steve

Well done

Thanks to all drivers / officials winners and losers alike for the meeting at Birmingham fast and efficient, well done to all for a good meeting,

Iam off to the US for 8 days from Tuesday night looking to further expand the series with more cars and to improve our American relationship and understand how it all works on the other side if you require anything small from the US please let me know as soon as possible, Please if you require anything whiles iam am away parts ect can you contact Juli in my absences on 07970183807 iam sure she will sort it out for you,

See you all on my return

With regards to the wet tyre situation we are currently having a review on how we move forward with these as the race dried out it burnt these out yet too damp to start on slicks, It's your call let me know how you would like to move forward with these - couple of suggestions so far up the allocation the same as the slicks or harder compound or an intermediate tyre let us know have a think and we can review the situation, Remember that we are trying to keep cost down so if you had harder compound or intermediates means more wheels ect, It's looking favourite bring wets in to the same category as the slicks as an option let us know your thoughts? The forum is good for this discussion! Thanks Steve

Dont Forget

It is a 1800hrs start at Birmingham this coming weekend, Tech at 1600hrs to 1700hrs,

Hi All I was recently asked about spring rate for the cars see the following

From my mate in the USA

The sprung mass natural frequency of one corner of the car is:

Frequency = (1 / (2 * Pi)) * Square root (Wheel rate / Sprung mass)

The answer is in cycles per second, abbreviated as Hz (Hertz). Don’t forget to use consistent units, subtract the unsprung weight from the setup pad corner weight, apply the proper constants to convert corner "weight" to corner "mass", and convert the spring rate to wheel rate correctly, using the motion ratio. This idealized formula assumes linear (non-progressive) springs, no friction, and no damping. Lotsa caveats there, but it will do well for the kind of coarse comparisons we have to do.

The reason why sprung mass natural frequency is important is that it lets us compare spring rates between cars. Two cars which are similar in design/race series/performance, may have differing weights and spring motion ratios, but still need a similar natural frequency due to their overriding similarity, a heavy car at a given frequency is not the same as a light car at the same frequency. But, it’s a starting point.

you have minimum ride height rules for tech inspection. cars in the series frequently find themselves on artificially soft springs to allow the car to assume a lower dynamic ride height under the influence of vertical loads from banking and/or aerodynamics, as well as possibly being “pulled” down by rebound damping.

Well you got the answer???????????  Work that one out.

Attention all Drivers

Could all drivers please contact Juli with their jacket size please as our Birmingham Wheels Sponsor Ram Motor sport will supply all 2010 drivers free of charge a Race Quip jacket as part of his 2010 sponsorship deal, these are very nice jackets made of a shiny type pro ban material as modeled by Pete Gould a Cat walk will be arranged at Birmingham for him to re demonstrate.

Thanks must go to Pete for doing this deal on behalf of the Mascar series.

Important

Booking in to meetings can i just remind everyone that track promoters are expecting a show for people that pay to watch racing, we are in to the first meeting of the year and already certain drivers who have pre booked are now either backing out or unsure of their attendance if you are in doubt then don't commit is the answer, don't raise people hopes then let them down, or we will have to reevaluate our situation with regards to this,

Well Done

Just a quick well done to all for the first meeting! Couple of issues that need to be addressed and will be  discussed at next driver briefing, a note will be sent to those who are not in attendance,

Safety gear seat belts , Cars not able to start under own power, grids & rolling lap, Car preparation ie oil leaks, Just a couple of items from our chief & Assistant Tech, and Race director / Track promoter,

Big well done to the winners and rookies who performed well for the first meeting results are now posted, Birmingham we will have to be slicker and really on the ball as this is an even faster turn around of cars,

Thanks again to Mike, Alek, Lucy, Pete for all their hard work at a difficult meeting with 1/2 the drivers new to the way we work and overcoming a few technical glitches.

Thanks again to everyone for an enjoyable day with not too many incidents.

Steve Mascar promoter.

The Day is Near!

Well it's nearly that time of year for engine to roar in to life. Could i just remind everyone that transponders and radios window nets are all new for 2010 and everyone will be using these, Safety equipment will be check at the first meeting all ORCi compliance in force including fire proof balaclavas,  engines all sealed please insure that you have the holes drilled for this if not already done so. please can everyone make sure they arrive early for the first meeting as we have quite a bit of tech inspecting to carry out as attendance to our practice day was poor and not many cars attended to be checked. vehicle weight checks are also on the agenda and any other post race tech stuff, Can i just remind all the drivers that our chief tech will request several cars after a race to attend post tech were you are remain in the vehicle until told to exit only driver and signed on mechanic can be present at this, ( we currently have only one signed on mechanic in 2010 so driver only, You have all seen the Video regarding health and safety and will ad ear to the strict ruling now regarding this,

Dont forget them 2Kg  extingushers for tow vehicles also!

thanks lets have a good opening meeting to the New 2010 MASCAR Chase series.

Important Info

All you should shortly receive a DVD from ORCi please take note of the contents as their are a few changes that effect us racing including flags happy viewing!

Engine Seals

Please don't forget to have them engines pre drilled through front fins to take 2.5m wire seal - combining head and block, I now have the seals to fit to all cars including roll cage seals (No need to do anything for these) all individual numbers which will be recorded and one off's no replica numbers.

The first seals will be FOC both engine and roll cage but any replacements will be charged out at £17.00 per seal even when removed to inspect or you are given authorisation to remove, if engine protested and found legal the cost will come from protest fund if found illegal from your pocket - sorry but these are more expensive than first anticipated and have to be paid for from some where, I will seal all new cars from now and anyone is welcome to inspect any of these including my car the Tech inspector will have records of numbers against each car combining roll cage seal car ID and engine seal which everyone can question through driver rep Tech rep at any time any spare engines you will have to pay for the seal for these.

No One will be allowed to participate without the seal being in place if removed without authorisation then as per the rule book you will be subject to a fine, ban, loss of points etc.

I am assured these are completely tamper proof and you cannot cut and rejoint as the wire frays automatically, the body is a high tensile type anodised, with all individual numbers not repeated and specific for our series so you can not purchase that number ever again, As they have stated once sealed the only way to remove is to cut through wire.

Just to remind you that this year transponders are required on all cars, I have 3 left with no signs of anyone wanting one, So in the next  week these will go on ebay where they are selling for around £240.00 each, Not £200 as i was asking for off the drivers in the series, It is your last chance to get these at a bargain price so be quick,

New From Incarace Please read below.

Have you got the I Factor?

In an attempt to provide the more grass roots and basic of our formulas and visiting formulas more racing on our tracks in 2010, we are announcing a series of events at both Birmingham Wheels and Northampton where we will be running quick fire races, all non contact with five, six and sometimes seven formulas racing on the same night.

It really will be action all of the way for both spectators and fans, with a really quick turnaround on races, no waiting for stragglers in the pits – if a car isn’t ready, then unfortunately it will be shut out. Trophies will be provided for the 1st three in the finals.

There are eight events altogether, including the I Factor Finals night which will be at Birmingham Wheels on Saturday 13th November 2010, with Championship races for all formulas based on the points scored in all of the I Factor Race Events throughout the year.

All people, including the driver will pay to come into each of these meetings, but as has been murmured in the press and on the terraces, these are not Pay to Race events as such, i.e. there will not be a race fee to pay each time you enter.

The I Factor Race Events will start at the earlier than normal time of 6pm. There will be the normal paid Practice available between 2.30pm and 5pm, and then pre-meeting practice from 5.15 to 5.45pm, all ready then for a prompt 6.00pm start.

The I factor Race Dates are as follows :

I Factor Race Night 1 Birmingham 3rd April
I Factor Race Night 2 Birmingham 1st May –

I Factor Race Night 3 Birmingham 5th June –
I Factor Race Night 4 Northampton 10th July –
I Factor Race Night 5 Birmingham 7th August –  No MASCAR
I Factor Race Night 6 Northampton 11th September –
I Factor Race Night 7 Birmingham 2nd October –
I Factor Race Night Finals Birmingham 13th November
